Motorola To Bring Shatterproof Display To Flagship Devices

Motorola and Verizon released the Droid Turbo 2 on Tuesday. Although it is a great device overall, what really differentiates Motorola’s Droid Turbo 2 from other smartphones is its screen. To be more exact, its shatterproof display. Since one of the most common cause of death for smartphones is their fragile screen, Motorola might have hit the jackpot with its shatterproof display. For now, only Verizon customers who purchase a Droid Turbo 2 will get the shatterproof display, but Motorola stated that they are going to equip other flagship devices also with the shatterproof display. Unfortunately, due to the cost of making a shatterproof display Motorola will only bring this feature to its high- end devices.

Although a shatterproof display may seem unimaginable, Motorola managed to nail it. Its Droid Turbo 2’s display just seems indestructible. This was proven both at the presentation of Motorola’s latest device and the ad of Moto Shattershield. In both cases, the shatterproof display of Motorola’s Droid Turbo 2 was put through a heavy test and it excelled. No scratches, no shatter for Motorola in the end. Until now we only saw tests carried out by Motorola, so we just have to take for granted that they truly managed to deliver a shatterproof display. But we probably won’t have to wait long before Youtube will get filled with videos showing exactly how shatterproof the Motorola display is. However, if the Droid Turbo 2 wouldn’t have a shatterproof display, Motorola and Verizon probably wouldn’t be able to offer an extended four- year warranty on the screen of the device.

According to Motorola, starting next year we will see a number of flagship devices that will feature shatterproof displays. If the shatterproof display will be combined with impressive specs and great design, Motorola might just deliver the next hit on the smartphone market. We’ll just have to wait and see which Motorola flagship devices will feature the shatterproof display enhanced with Moto Shattershield.
