Google obviously isn’t ready yet to announce a new smartphone. However, the company recently confirmed that it is already working on the Google Pixel 2. Even though the company’s representatives didn’t reveal an official release, it seems it will come a year after its predecessor. This means we could see the Pixel 2 this fall. Hopefully, it will be at least as good as the first generation Google Pixel and Pixel XL. It’s safe to assume that this year we will also get two models, just as last year. Another thing we can expect is the high price tag.
Unfortunately, the Google smartphones are not exactly affordable. However, they are in the premium category. This means the smartphones are made from high-class materials and offer premium features. These never come cheap. A good processor, great cameras, water-resistant build and tight security features all have their price. Of course, Google fans don’t usually opt for the Pixel smartphones because of their design or camera. They go for the newest Google Android software. After all, they couldn’t get such a pure Android experience from any other smartphone.
The Pixel 2 this year will have to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy 8 and the iPhone 8. Given last year’s models from the same vendors, we can expect the new ones to be awesome. This could put some serious pressure on Google. Especially because they already seem to have some problems delivering the first Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. Even though it isn’t clear what the holdup is, it seems that the company has some manufacturing issues. They don;t seem to be able to deliver enough devices to meet the demand. In this case, it must be quite difficult to focus on another project, especially as big as the Google Pixel 2. However, the company always manages to get back on track, so it’s safe to assume that the Pixel 2 will become reality before the end of the year and it will live up to expectations.
