The New York International Car Show recently concluded. News, crowds, and vehicle reveals were unremarkable. There were some noteworthy patterns and disclosures.

Key takeaway? This year’s New York International Auto Show featured electric vehicles, trucks, SUVs, and EV charging, demonstrating that the auto industry is racing toward zero-emission vehicles without sacrificing the big, comfortable, costly vehicles consumers adore (and spend huge sums on).

The 2025 all-electric Ram 1500 REV premiered in New York with an optional 229 kilowatt-hour battery for 500 miles of range. That battery pack’s size is insane. The Hummer EV pickup’s 212.7 kWh battery weighs like a small sedan. Range is not correlated with battery pack size. Efficiency counts!
