The “Blue Origins Space Rangers” animated space adventure series will be produced by the Jeff Bezos-led company Blue Origin, according to a press release from production companies Genius Brands and SMAC Productions. There is no definite date for the premiere.
Bezos, who established his space tourism company Blue Origin in 2000, and “Good Morning America” co-host Michael Strahan, who took part in a 10-minute trip in December 2021 as a passenger on Blue Origin NS-19, will both lend their voices to the animated children’s series. In July 2021, Bezos launched his hypersonic joyride into space.
According to the announcement, “Blue Origins Space Rangers” will also feature the voices of more guest stars, such as young astronauts, famous people, and “adult leaders.”
As humanity continue to investigate this new era of space travel, sometimes known as billionaires visiting space for fun, the next series is said to offer a learning opportunity for aspiring astronauts and STEAM students. Of course, a side effect is that it gives an impressionable public a little more human view of the notoriously unlikable Bezos.
Orbital Reef, a currently-under-construction private space station, and the Amazon documentary “Shatner in Orbit,” which examines 90-year-old “Star Trek” star William Shatner’s trip to space last year, are both featured in the 2023 movie “HELIOS,” which is also centered on Blue Origin.
