Twitter is giving Blue members 50% more advertisements in their timeline and a search boost.
Elon Musk had long promised Twitter Blue subscribers fewer sponsored tweets. The firm has introduced functionality for the “following” and “for you” timelines.
“As you scroll, you will see around twice as many organic or non-sponsored Tweets as promoted or advertising Tweets.”” There may be more or fewer non-promoted Tweets between sponsored Tweets,” Twitter explains.
This functionality does not apply to profile advertisements, responses, promoted accounts, trends, or Explore page promoted events, according to the social network. Twitter also stated that half-ads will only be available to verified subscribers.
Twitter claims to have reduced advertisements on premium customers’ streams, although anecdotal evidence is lacking.
Musk also suggested a more expensive ad-free Twitter tier last year.
The business also changed its priority-boosting benefit for Blue members. The business previously indicated that premium users would get priority answers. “Prioritized ranks in chats and searches” now appears. According to the Blue subscription support website, paying users who interact with tweets get a “little bump in their ranking.”
Musk said last month that Twitter’s algorithmic timeline will only show verified users and followers starting April 15.
Twitter launched Blue internationally a few weeks ago. Despite its extensive availability, Twitter appears to have few paid users. SensorTower said that Twitter made $11 million from mobile transactions until late March. Despite 116,000 signing up in March, Similarweb reported last week that fewer than 1% of Twitter’s monthly users subscribe to Twitter Blue.
