The Samsung Galaxy S8 is definitely one of the most awaited gadgets of next year. Ever since the Note 7 failed due to the exploding battery issues, Galaxy fans became even more interested in the upcoming flagship model. Even though some suggested an early launch for the S8, it now seems that the launch will only take place in February, at the MWX 2017 in Barcelona. There is still a lot of time until then, but even so, rumors are starting to surface regarding the S8 and S8 Edge. Some of them get discarded, others are confirmed.
The latest confirmation regarding the Galaxy S8 comes from tipster Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks in the Twitter community. Even though the tipster doesn’t reveal any major aspects of the upcoming devices, he does confirm the model numbers of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge. Even more, he leaks the fact that there is another model is on its way. The first two models, the SM-G950 and SM-G955 are most likely the S8 and S8 Edge. The other model, named SM-N950 could be the successor of the Galaxy note 7 that was released a few weeks ago.
Even though there is not a lot of information available regarding the Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge, the big picture is starting to take form. Both devices will most likely be large ones, most likely a 5.7-inch and a 6.2-inch. Rumor had it that this time around both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8 Edge would have the signature curved edges of the previous Edge models. In this case, it would seem rather stupid to continue calling them the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge, wouldn’t it? Even if a change of moniker would be necessary, it would be great to have the double edge screen on both models.
The Galaxy S8 may be the next flagship model of Samsung, but the majority of us are more interested in the SM-N950 model right now. Is this the 2017 Note smartphone? If it is, we hope it will be a lot better than the Note 7 that was released this year. To be honest, except the battery issues, the Note 7 already had some amazing features. If Samsung manages to solve the problems of the Note 7 and keeps the other features, the Note 8, or whatever it will be called, should be a terrific device.
