In its first year, Snapchat+ reached 4 million paid subscribers. Two new features for subscribers were also announced.
The first feature, “Expressive Chat Messages,” lets users send larger font messages. “Custom Chat Colors” lets users choose their chat name color. Snapchat currently displays your name in red in chats, but subscribers will soon be able to choose a color.
Snapchat announced in April that its subscription service reached 3 million paid users. Snapchat+ reached 1 million subscribers in August and 2 million in February after launching in June 2022.
The subscription service is growing, but it only accounts for a small portion of the app’s 375 million daily active users.
Snapchat+ has introduced several notable features, including “My AI,” an AI-powered chatbot. The company later made the chatbot free for everyone. Snapchat+ subscribers can now send Snaps to the in-app chatbot to receive generative Snaps.
Snapchat+ costs $3.99 per month and offers experimental and pre-release features, custom app themes, unique app icons, and more. US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and UAE residents can subscribe.
