Android 6.0 Marshmallow Rolling Out To Nexus Devices

Google’s software update started to be rolled out to select Nexus smartphones. The Nexus 5X, the Nexus 6P and the Pixel C devices come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. For other Nexus smartphones, like the Nexus 5, the Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and the Nexus Player the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow became available as of Monday. It seems that its installation will be a piece of cake, so users don’t have to fear the dreaded upgrade.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow will automatically arrive through a over- the- air update to the select devices. A notification will let users know that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow became available for their compatible Nexus devices. The same notification also contains the steps users have to go through in order to install the new software. Since there is no need to manually sync the Nexus device with a computer for getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, upgrading to it shouldn’t cause any difficulties.

The new and improved software promises to extend battery life thanks to two new features: Doze and App Standby. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow also offers a number of brand new features that are meant to enhance user experience. The most successful feature of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow seems to be the Now On Tap, which anticipates what users need in the moment. We didn’t get the chance to try it out so far, but we hope for it to rise above expectations. The improved security features of  Android 6.0 Marshmallow are also welcome and we hope they will work flawlessly.

Although Google started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Nexus devices on Monday, there is no need to panic if your device didn’t get it yet. As it was stated on the official Android blog, the Nexus update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow occurs in stages and some carriers will receive the update later than others.
