Nintendo Shares Have Risen More Than 50% Since Pokemon Go Was Launched

Pokemon was already a hit in the 1990s, but ever since the mobile app was launched last week, it became even more popular, gaining hundreds of thousands of fans all over the world. This is probably the reason why in only one week Nintendo shares have increased by more than 50%. To be more specific, the shares of the game developer company have risen 56% in the last week, and now the Japanese company’s market value is $34 billion, according to BBC. It’s safe to assume that not even the game developers expected such a great popularity.

On the first day after its launch, Pokemon Go was more downloaded than Tinder, and after the first week, the mobile app became probably the most downloaded game ever. According to reports, the game, developed by Nintendo in partnership with Niantic and the Pokemon Company, enjoys more users than Twitter or even Facebook. That truly is amazing, given the popularity of the social media sites. Everyone seems to be chasing Pokemon characters all around the US, Australia, New Zealand, and recently in the UK and Germany also. It’s highly likely that the mobile app will become just as popular in the rest of the world after it will be officially released globally.

Nintendo was relying mainly on the sales of their gaming consoles in the last few years after Super Mario lost a great number of fans. With Pokemon Go, the company might see a terrific comeback to the market. Pokemon Go is not only a mobile app, it has become a global phenomenon, and it’s highly likely that this phenomenon won’t stop just yet. The game will become even more popular after it will be released in the rest of the world, and it is safe to assume that it will be on the charts as the most downloaded app both on Android and on iOS.

The mobile app comes with a set of pros and cons, just like any other game out there. It is said that chasing the virtual characters in real places improves the mental health status of the players, by making them more active. On the other hand, the game can also be damaging if not played in safe circumstances. Those who play the game when driving can cause serious accidents, which can result in the harming of both the player or third parties. Playing this game is great, but please do it in safe conditions.
