Huawei Honor Magic Was Officially Announced

The Huawei Honor Magic was finally made official! The company has been teasing us for quite some time now with their upcoming concept smartphone, and now it is finally here. Huawei’s new handset doesn’t just look quite good, it also has some rather impressive features. Unfortunately, according to Android Authority, the device will only be available in China, at least for the moment. However, it’s not totally impossible to see the Chinese company launch it on international markets also, so don’t give up on hope just yet. If you really want it and don’t want to wait around to see whether it will come to your country or not, contact your friend from China and order it, it is already available in the homeland of Huawei.

The design of the Huawei Honor Magic is a quite nice one. The rounded edges of the smartphone and the fact that it has double 3D covers turn the device into a head-turning one. The home button that can be found on the lower part of the front panel also hides the fingerprint sensor that was created for the security of users. Besides this, the home button now also has a triple function. instead of just being a regular home button, it is also a “back” and “overview” button. Users can opt between these functions by touching, double tapping or swiping the home button. The 5.09-inch display of the smartphone makes it just the right size to comfortably fit into your pocket, but offer a good image.

When it comes to the main features of the smartphone, the Huawei Honor Magic doesn’t necessarily stand out. It has a Kirin 950 octa-core processor, alongside a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. The handset includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It doesn’t feature a microSD card slot, so the 64GB of storage is all users will get. Fortunately, this is more than enough for the majority of users. The handset features a 12MP dual lens primary camera and an 8MP selfie camera. The 2900mAh battery of the smartphone is not exactly impressive, but it could prove to be enough to take users through the day.

Besides the main features, which, as I already stated, are not really impressive, the Huawei Honor Magic has some additional features that turn it into a nice handset. One of these is the WiswScreen sensor that combines a sensor in the front-facing camera and one in the frame of the smartphone. These come together in recognizing the owner’s hand and eyes and unblocking the screen of the smartphone when they pick up the device. The same sensor is also responsible for locking the screen when the phone is put away. The smartphone also features FaceCode Intelligent Recognition that reveals messages only to pre-recorded faces. If you don’t want anyone to accidentally see your messages, this feature will definitely make you happy.

The Huawei Honor Magic also has some other AI-driven features that really turn it into a magic handset. I  have to admit that every new generation of smartphones bedazzles me in some way, but the Honor Magic really takes things a notch further. This is why is quite a pity that at least at first it won’t be available globally. However, if it will be the success people expect it to be, Huawei will most likely release it on the international markets.
