Flipboard creates a Bluesky feed

Bluesky has a Flipboard feed. Flipboard said its recommendation algorithm curates the “Tech by Flipboard” feed.

Bluesky introduced custom algorithm-based feeds last month. Users can browse social media content and accounts by adding these feeds. Bluesky should not have a single feed with a core recommendation algorithm like other social networks.

App developers can use this to create relevant feeds. Flipboard’s tech feed features user-posted articles. Like Twitter’s Nuzzle (RIP), but on Bluesky.

Flipboard’s algorithm selects relevant posts from Blueksy’s firehose.

“Our AI topic extraction algorithms don’t just look at Bluesky’s raw text for our Tech feed. Instead, they categorize and verify Flipboard-quality shared articles. In a blog post, the company said this produces timely, high-quality stories.

It promised custom feeds for business and entertainment soon. Flipboard lets you view Bluesky feeds.

Flipboard supports ActivityPub and AT Protocol. Flipboard users can view Mastodon, Bluesky, and Pixelfed feeds.

Bluesky’s limited user base is experiencing algorithmic choice with custom feeds, as Jack Dorsey and CEO Jay Graber have discussed. Having feeds populated by different algorithms could be refreshing as Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram experiment with a heavy-handed approach to what appears in your feed.
