Serve Robotics will deploy 2,000 Uber Eats sidewalk delivery bots.

Uber spinoff Serve Robotics is expanding its cooperation with Uber Eats. The Nvidia-backed business will deploy up to 2,000 of its cute tiny bots via Uber in different U.S. regions.

The partnership will extend through early 2026.

This expansion reinforces Serve’s ambition to mass commercialize robotics for autonomous delivery and shows Uber’s commitment to autonomy. Uber said last week that Waymo’s autonomous vehicles would be available for ride-hail and delivery in Phoenix later this year. Motional’s self-driving Hyundai Ioniq 5s delivers food in Santa Monica for Uber.

West Hollywood piloted Serve and Uber’s cooperation a year ago. Since then, Serve’s robotic deliveries with Uber have increased 30% month-over-month to over 200 eateries in West Hollywood, Hollywood, and Fairfax. Serve co-founder and CEO Ali Kashani says the bots work seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Kashani told that Uber Eats will continue to develop rapidly. We already have 100 robots in Los Angeles, and we anticipate to operate more of them on Uber Eats as our coverage and delivery volume increase.”
