Ella Irwin, Twitter’s head of trust and safety, confirmed her resignation to Reuters on Thursday.
Irwin replaced Yoel Roth, who left during Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover. Irwin seemed to agree with Musk’s views, which have welcomed neo-Nazis and increased hate speech on Twitter. Roth disagreed.
Irwin and Musk hadn’t commented yet. The timing matches Twitter’s current drama.
The Daily Wire reported Thursday that Twitter “canceled a deal” to offer its film “What is a Woman” for free on the platform. Musk said the feature-length documentary attacking transgender people was perfect for the social network.
Musk told Daily Wire co-CEO Jeremy Boreing that Twitter made a mistake. “You can.”

Despite Musk’s claim, Twitter’s hateful conduct rules limited the documentary’s reach.
Irwin may have been involved in labeling the video, which is causing a firestorm among conservative and anti-transgender Twitter users who see Musk as a reliable ally.
