JumpCloud reset API keys to protect customers from a security incident.
In an email to customers, the directory, identity, and access management giant reported a “ongoing incident” without details. The company said the resets were “out of an abundance of caution” in a support post.
Louisville, Colorado-based technology secures cloud file directories and devices with single sign-on and multi-factor authentication for businesses. JumpCloud serves over 180,000 organizations, including 5,000 paying customers.
Companies often provide API keys for customers to integrate their tech stack and communicate between systems. Rotating or invalidating customer API keys, which are treated like passwords or other secrets, could disrupt customers’ integrations with other services.
JumpCloud declined to comment on what incident it is responding to.
In 2021, JumpCloud raised $159 million at Series F, valuing it at over $2.5 billion.
