OnlyFans CEO Ami Gan resigns

After 2.5 years as CEO, Ami Gan is leaving OnlyFans. Keily Blair will become CEO.

Gan tweeted, “Spending nearly 3 years at OnlyFans while it echoed throughout the cultural zeitgeist, has been beyond rewarding.

OnlyFans, the most prominent creator platform for adult content, paid out $10 billion to creators while Gan was CEO, according to PitchBook. The company kept 20% of creator payments.

CEO of OnlyFans is challenging despite its success. OnlyFans faces the same challenges as credit card company policies and global legislation make it harder for online sex workers to make a living. OnlyFans famously banned sexually explicit content before Gan became CEO. Though this decision was reversed, creators will never forget that moment of crisis when they thought they would again be deplatformed and lose money.

Gan told disrupt that adult creators can expect to be on OnlyFans in five years. As OnlyFans has promoted its safe-for-work offerings like OFTV, Gan and Blair dodged questions about how much of its revenue comes from adult creators.

Gan announced her next project while leaving OnlyFans. Hoxton Projects, her marketing company, “reimagines the agency paradigm” to help founders grow. Gan was the chief marketing officer of OnlyFans and led communications at a Cannabis Cafe, Red Bull, Quest Nutrition, and other companies before becoming a CEO.

Blair, the new CEO, worked in data privacy law before joining OnlyFans, a company that needs users to trust their data. Matt Reeder, OnlyFans’ deputy general counsel, will replace Blair as CSOO, and Sue Beeby will become CCO.
