Chinese smartphone manufacturer and vendor Coolpad announced a new, ultra low-priced entry- level smartphone which will be available at T- Mobile both online and in stores starting 30 September.
Coolpad Rogue is a simple smartphone lacking any extreme features but is still pretty impressive given the $49.99 price tag. The device has a 4- inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) resolution display and is powered by a dual- core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.1 GHz with Adreno 304. The Coolpad Rogue features 1 GB RAM and has 4 GB internal storage which can be expanded to 32 GB due to its MicroSD card slot.
The Coolpad Rogue runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, this being probably its most impressive feature. The device is said to offer LTE support (2, 4, 12, AWS3 bands) and is equipped with a rather weak, 2MP rear camera and a VGA front item which are not impressive at all but given the price tag, they can be considered to be reasonable.
The Coolpad Rogue has WiFi and GPS connection, v. 4.00 Bluetooth but it does not support FM.
The device’s full specifications available at this time only reveal that it has a non- removable battery but unfortunately they do not let possible buyers know the capacity of the battery, so this feature remains a mystery until it will actually hit the stores.
As far as the design goes, Coolpad created a simple, sleek smartphone making the device a good option for first- time smartphone users. Its easy-to-use interface also helps the device be the perfect smartphone for parents to buy their children, being one of the most low- priced Android smartphones on the market these days.
