X now permits Premium+ users and groups to release articles

X introduced a new extended post type called Articles today. Only Premium+ subscribers and recognized organizations may utilize this tool, which allows users to publish articles with text formatting, other X posts, and embedded videos and photos, similar to a post on a WordPress-like content management system or an essay on Medium.

The company’s @Write account introduced the new functionality on the platform with an article publication.

Elon Musk’s social network raised the character limit for longer postings to 25,000 for those who pay. The article limit seems to have been raised to 100,000 characters, as reported by Engadget.

Chris Bakke’s article mentions that users have the ability to include bulleted lists and hyperlinked text. Additionally, Bakke’s business, Laskie, was bought by X last year.

Twitter introduced Notes as a platform for long-form publication in 2022, prior to Musk assuming control of the firm. Under Musk’s leadership, the Notes project was paused, ad-free articles were discontinued, and the newsletter platform Revenue was closed.

In July 2023, Musk said that the firm was developing a method for authors to publish long-form works using mixed media.

Users will be able to publish extensive, intricate articles, including many forms of media. Musk suggested that the user may publish a book in response to a post on the new “Articles” feature.

Musk has consistently encouraged influencers such as Mr. Beast and former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson to publish content directly on X. The social media company’s new action is intended to appeal to authors interested in posting directly on the platform.
