The Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL didn’t even settle in yet and rumors concerning the next Microsoft Lumia model are already surfacing. This time around, it seems that the tech giant is planning to launch a more affordable smartphone, the Lumia 850 Honjo. Although the device was thought to arrive only in black and white color options, it seems that it will also be available in gold and probably even rose gold, which seems to be the color of the year on the smartphone market. Although these colors were more appreciated by Eastern countries until now, the Western public also seems to embrace the new, shiny version of gadgets.
The Lumia 850 will probably be a mid-ranger, which means that its spec sheet won’t be as impressive as the Lumia 950 or 950 XL’s. Most likely it will be powered by a Snapdragon 617 chipset, an octa- core processor and the Adreno 405 GPU. These definitely aren’t the best pieces of hardware available on the market right now, but a mid-ranger will never get the best there is. The Lumia 850 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch 1080p display, so at least, that won’t disappoint, even if there are smartphones out there with more impressive screens.
There is no official information yet as to the launch date of the Microsoft Lumia 850 and it is quite hard to predict when the tech giant will release the mid-ranger. It is safe to assume that the new model won’t be launched in the near future, and it is also possible that it won’t even be released and the plan will be ser aside to make room for a better device. Although the Lumia 850 doesn’t promise to be an impressive smartphone so far, it would be interesting to have a mid-ranger Windows 10 smartphone, wouldn’t it? We’ll have to wait and see what the faith of the Microsoft mid-ranger will be.
