Syllable brought a beautiful product to the market, combining a pleasant minimalist design with good performance and a budget friendly price tag. Right from the start you can tell that these earphones have been made with sports in mind. They have a practical design that keeps them in place, easy access to the controls and Bluetooth connection so you don’t have a cord dangling around when you exercise.
One of the best exercises during which you can test how well a pair of earphones do their job is running. The biggest problem I have with most earphones is the fact that I feel them slipping out of my years. They never actually fell, but the feeling alone is distracting. Another problem is that they don’t cancel enough ambient noise and most of the times I have to push the volume to a high level in order to hear my tracks louder than the surrounding environment. I haven’t had any of these problems with the Syllable D700, it took a short time to get used to their design and the method of inserting them in the ear but after putting them in the correct position I found that they feel very comfortable and they cancel the outside noise very efficiently.
DESIGN
Like I mentioned before, the design is very nice, the cable could have been an idea shorter, but it doesn’t bother me that much while running or working out at the gym.
The ear hooks hold the device in place with no problem and they feel comfortable. The device comes with 3 sets of ear buds in different sizes, this way you can use the one that fits perfectly in order to get the best sound and ambient noise cancellation. The speakers can be moved up and down and rotate 360 degrees in order for the user to easily find the perfect position.
I appreciate the attention given to the remote control. I like the minimalist design with just 3 buttons and each with dual purposes. They are easy to understand, have a nice texture, a good feedback when pressed. Startind from the top we see a microphone grill, the volume up button that skips forward after a long press, the ON/OFF button that is also used for answering phone calls and at the bottom the volume down key that also takes up back to the previous track after a long press.
On the side of the remote, there is a micro USB port used for charging the device. It takes about on hour and half to fully charge the earphones and depending on how loud you listen to your music and how much you use them as a Bluetooth hand-free device, the battery can last up to 5 hours.
FEATURES
- Comfortable and light design, these earphones will stay in place with no discomfort and you will barely feel it’s 20 grams weight. The different size ear buds and the possibility to move the speakers up and down will help this device fit to almost anybody.
- Bluetooth 4,1 compatible with almost all Bluetooth enabled music players and most smartphones.
- Wireless hands-free mode, can answer calls, change the volume and redial the last call.
- Moisture resistant and sweat proof.
- Up to 5 h playback time.
- Up to 10 meters range.
The Syllable D700 are probably the best looking Bluetooth earphones that perform very well, feel comfortable and cost around $ 20. My opinion is that you get more than what you pay for. The sound quality is good, the bass doesn’t have a powerful punch, but I think that this is by design. This is not a problem for me, the bass is there and is just enough if you’re doing sports and not imagining yourself in a club.
